Extra To Love ("we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports families impacted by Trisomy 13 and Trisomy 18. We know that the information families share with us is often personal and sensitive. This policy explains what we collect through extratolove.org (the "Site"), how we use it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We only collect information you choose to send us. Depending on the form you use, that may include:
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
- Contact form: your name, email address and message.
- Diagnosis Hope Box and Remembrance Box requests: the recipient's name, an email address, your relationship to the recipient, an optional phone number, a shipping address, and details about the baby and family, such as the diagnosis, due date or time since loss, the baby's name, siblings, and any message you include.
- Grant applications: your name, email address, phone number and address, and information about your child and your request, such as the diagnosis, due date or birth date, the care, travel, adaptive aid or therapy you are requesting help with, and insurance type and status.
- Event registrations: when we hold events such as our charity golf tournament, participant names, email addresses and a phone number. Registration payments are handled by Stripe.
- Donations: donations are processed through Donorbox. We receive your name, email address, donation amount and any details you choose to provide. Card and bank details are handled by Donorbox's payment processors (such as Stripe and PayPal); we never see or store them.
Some of these forms ask for health information about a child. We ask only for what we need to send a box or review a grant request, and we limit access to the volunteers and staff who handle those requests.
We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or marketing cookies on this Site. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) in server logs to keep the Site secure and running.
How We Use Your Information
- To send Diagnosis Hope Boxes and Remembrance Boxes
- To review grant applications and contact you about them
- To respond to your questions and messages
- To send confirmation emails about your request, registration or donation
- To send our newsletter, if you signed up for it
- To process donations and event registrations and keep the records nonprofits are required to keep
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not add you to our newsletter unless you sign up for it.
Service Providers
We rely on a few trusted services to run the Site. They process information only to provide those services to us:
- Netlify hosts the Site and receives form submissions on our behalf, including automated spam filtering.
- Airtable stores box requests, grant applications and event registrations so our team can manage them.
- Brevo sends confirmation emails to you and notification emails to our team.
- Donorbox provides our donation form. When the form loads, Donorbox and its payment and security providers (such as Stripe, PayPal, Google reCAPTCHA and hCaptcha) may set cookies and collect information as described in Donorbox's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe processes event registration payments, as described in Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Buzzsprout provides the podcast player on our Podcast page and may collect listening information as described in Buzzsprout's Privacy Policy.
Links to other sites, such as our customizable templates on Canva or our Facebook and Instagram pages, are covered by those sites' own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of Extra To Love or others.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your information for as long as we need it to fulfill your request, review your application, stay in touch if you asked us to, and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. After that, we delete it.
Your Choices
- You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by contacting us.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you've sent us by contacting us using the details below.
Children's Privacy
This Site is meant for parents, caregivers and supporters, and is not directed to children under 13. Information about a child is provided by a parent, guardian or someone requesting support on the family's behalf.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the date at the top of the page.
